Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leon Montana (ranked 1132 p4p, 168 weight class) and John Ruth (ranked 1458 p4p, 222 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruth uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Montana.

Montana with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ruth to score with a decent uppercut.

Ruth has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Montana regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ruth has gone for a leg lock! Montana slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ruth's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ruth feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
