TWGC 22 (265lbs, D1): Finals - Round 1 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Tony Slevin (ranked 5285 p4p, 426 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 1812 p4p, 276 weight class). Slevin comes to the cage accompanied by timber. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Tony Slevin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 4 losses; Jiu Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Slevin clinches up with Jitsu and pushes him back against the cage.
Slevin fails to pull guard.

Jitsu ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jitsu no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Slevin preventing the sweep.
Slevin wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving.
Slevin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jitsu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slevin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've been hearing good reports from Slevin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Slevin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jitsu stacks Slevin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jitsu!
