PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Darren (ranked 747 p4p, 104 weight class) and Jack Stone (ranked 228 p4p, 40 weight class). Darren kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Here's to the losers. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Darren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Stone!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darren throws a body shot but no joy.
James Darren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Darren cracks the inside of Stone's front leg.
Darren smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Darren looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Darren fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stone.

Stone walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Stone has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Darren tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Darren fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stone has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Darren is looking to wear down Stone with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Darren feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Stone's calf.

Stone tries a quick counter leg kick but Darren is wise to it.

Darren throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stone on the side of the head.

Darren escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Darren throws a wild body kick that Stone sees coming a mile off.
Darren slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Stone gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Stone takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Darren ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Stone throws out a loose jab but Darren uses good head movement to avoid it.
Darren tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stone steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Good leg kick by Stone there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Stone cracks Darren with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Darren looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Stone finish him?

and Stone counters with a huge left! Darren is in big trouble! He's backing up but Stone isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Darren from any more damage. A dominating finish by Stone!

Jack Stone seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
