Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edmond Honda (ranked 855 p4p, 90 weight class) and Gabriel Arones (ranked 762 p4p, 79 weight class). Honda comes to the cage accompanied by E. Honda Stage Theme Extended. Arones has chosen Lonely is the night as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arones moves away from the strike by Honda.
Honda goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Arones is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Honda with a body shot.
Honda misses with a kick to the body.
Honda misses with a body kick.

and Arones counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Edmond Honda has been cut.
Arones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Honda takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Honda throws a body kick that misses.

Honda looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Honda is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Arones's half guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Arones wants to get back to full guard.
Arones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Honda.
Arones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Arones.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Honda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Honda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Honda content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Arones has locked up a guillotine! Arones's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Honda is holding on here and Arones must be using up a lot of energy. Honda has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Arones gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Gabriel Arones!
Our winner, Gabriel Arones, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
In defeat, Edmond Honda stepped up to the mic, saying 'You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance!'.
