PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Feodor Shemelianenko (ranked 4141 p4p, 526 weight class) and Andy Bangsit (ranked 2295 p4p, 331 weight class). Shemelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by 2Pac - I'm A Soldier (Echale Mojo Remix) . Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Feodor Shemelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Andy Bangsit!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shemelianenko pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bangsit only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Shemelianenko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bangsit is looking for a sweep.
Bangsit is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shemelianenko off and has taken his back!

Bangsit working for the choke.

Bangsit seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Shemelianenko's chin but Shemelianenko turns very nicely into Bangsit's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Shemelianenko.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bangsit escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shemelianenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bangsit has his foot on Shemelianenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shemelianenko works his way back into a safe position though.
Shemelianenko works over Bangsit with some ground and pound from guard.

Bangsit is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Shemelianenko is controlling Bangsit's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Bangsit is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bangsit is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shemelianenko is just riding it out for now. Bangsit eventually gives up the hold.

Bangsit wants to work for an arm triangle but Shemelianenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bangsit swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Shemelianenko is now in Bangsit's guard. A big mistake from Bangsit there, giving up the dominant position!

Bangsit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shemelianenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shemelianenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bangsit has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shemelianenko has managed to get both his arms back between Bangsit's legs - danger averted.

Bangsit is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Shemelianenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
