The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lumpkin connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Devin Blanchard has been cut.
Lumpkin stuffs the takedown.
As Blanchard backs off Lumpkin throws a huge counter combo but Blanchard manages to avoid it all.

Blanchard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lumpkin is trying to break the clinch but Blanchard is controlling him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lumpkin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Lumpkin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lumpkin wants to break free but Blanchard has control.

Blanchard is looking to work some ground and pound but Lumpkin has wrist control.
Blanchard makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Lumpkin is looking to stand up but Blanchard isn't so interested in that idea.

Blanchard cracks Lumpkin with a solid left hand.
Blanchard would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blanchard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lumpkin manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Blanchard keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lumpkin's efforts to push away.

Blanchard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lumpkin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blanchard, pushing him back against the cage.

Lumpkin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Lumpkin stands up and waves to Blanchard to follow him.
Blanchard keeps the fight on the outside.
Blanchard closes the distance but Lumpkin moves to the side
and Lumpkin counters with a nice body shot.

Blanchard lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Blanchard is looking for a takedown.
Lumpkin is trying to push Blanchard away but Blanchard has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lumpkin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Blanchard keeps control of Lumpkin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lumpkin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Blanchard can't fight it off and eventually Lumpkin manages to take the fight to the floor. Blanchard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lumpkin feints a jab promting Blanchard to slip. Lumpkin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Blanchard slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lumpkin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Lumpkin throws a series of punches but Blanchard moves out of range.
Lumpkin scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Oh Blanchard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Devin Blanchard's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Lumpkin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Lumpkin has cracked Blanchard with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Lumpkin lands another huge swinging hook and Blanchard tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Blanchard, before Lumpkin can land any more shots!
