Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomas McCall (ranked 1345 p4p, 172 weight class) and Timmy Thompson (ranked 2271 p4p, 0 weight class). Timmy Thompson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Timmy Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCall gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McCall tries to pull guard but Thompson holds him up against the cage and eventually McCall drops back down to his feet.
McCall fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Thompson throws a punch but it's blocked by McCall.
Thompson takes a shot to the head.

McCall jumps into guard, dragging Thompson to the mat.

McCall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thompson defends well.
McCall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Thompson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing reports that McCall has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Thompson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thompson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thompson wants to control from the top but McCall keeps moving.

McCall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thompson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thompson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Thompson rolls with it to try and escape but McCall cranks on the arm and Thompson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
