The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stosic pushes Howard up against the cage in a clinch.
Howard tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Stosic softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Howard doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Howard jumps guard but Stosic stands there with Howard around his waist. Howard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Howard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Stosic throwing strikes but missing.
Howard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Howard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stosic postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stosic postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Howard pulls Stosic in close to his closed guard and prevents Stosic from doing any damage or advancing position.
Stosic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Howard works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Stosic throws a strike but Howard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Howard would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Stosic is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Stosic is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Howard trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stosic avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Howard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
No joy there for Stosic, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Howard was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Stosic shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Stosic throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Howard to regain full guard.

Stosic drops back, looking for a kneebar! Howard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Howard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Howard!

Stosic is looking for a sweep.
Howard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stosic keeps working.
Stosic gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Howard is nestled in close to Stosic, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Howard slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Howard lands a nice short elbow.
Stosic is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Howard is stalling here. Stosic is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Howard seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Stosic has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

It looks like Dewayne Howard has been cut.

Stosic drives through with a takedown into Howard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Howard pushes Stosic off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Stosic connects with a right that clearly hurt Howard. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Stosic proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Howard collapses and taps out under the pressure!
