The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan has a takedown stuffed.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Riise. Ryan shrugs it off though.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Riise - that will leave a mark!
Riise lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ryan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ryan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ryan blocks a body shot from Riise.

Ryan manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riise slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ryan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Riise looking to sit in guard and control but Ryan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Riise is on top in guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Riise's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Ryan looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Riise is defending well. Ryan quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Riise has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ryan celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
