Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 wins, 10 losses and 1 draws, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Bogard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 wins, 12 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Sainty!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sainty tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bogard throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Sainty counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bogard!
Sainty tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Bogard tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sainty presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bogard tries to hold on but Sainty pushes him away.

Sainty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sainty wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bogard keeps working.
Bogard wants to control but Sainty is keeping busy.
Bogard moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Bogard looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sainty puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Sainty takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bogard is looking to control Sainty's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bogard avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bogard misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sainty.
Bogard walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sainty checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Some bone on bone action there as Bogard checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Bogard throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Sainty closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sainty tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bogard's legs.
Bogard is looking to regain half guard here but Sainty keeps moving and retains side control.

Sainty laying and praying for a moment but Bogard takes advantage and regains half guard.
Bogard holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Bogard tries to get to full guard but Sainty has control of the leg.

Sainty is looking for a kimura but Bogard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sainty to get the leverage.

A close second round but Daniel Sainty will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Sainty shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bogard but Bogard pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bogard is looking for a sweep. Sainty is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've been hearing good reports from Bogard's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bogard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sainty only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Sainty chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bogard can pounce on him.
Sainty avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sainty cracks Bogard with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

I've got Sainty winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
