Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Har Ambe (ranked 682 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroshi Kawanabe (ranked 1256 p4p, 0 weight class). Ambe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Boosie - Set it Off. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Har Ambe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hiroshi Kawanabe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ambe misses with a body shot.
Ambe throws a lazy right hand but Kawanabe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ambe misses with a hook. Kawanabe ducked under it nicely.
Ambe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ambe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kawanabe! But no joy.
Kawanabe has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ambe is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Ambe shoots in and bounces Kawanabe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kawanabe uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Nice jab there from Kawanabe.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ambe misses with a lunging right hand
and Kawanabe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kawanabe looks to score with a jab to the body but Ambe is just out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Ambe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

No joy there for Kawanabe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ambe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ambe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hiroshi Kawanabe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kawanabe moves out of range of the strikes.
Ambe moves away from the strike by Kawanabe.

Ambe appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Ambe lands a nice shot that snaps Kawanabe's head back.

Ambe has picked Kawanabe up - he's going for a ride! Ambe dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Ambe is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kawanabe has momentary wrist control but Ambe slips an elbow through the middle.
Ambe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ambe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ambe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kawanabe has control of Ambe's left arm, preventing Ambe from doing any damage.
Ambe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kawanabe's head.
Ambe content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kawanabe can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ambe controls the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Har Ambe will probably get the nod.

letting Kawanabe counter with a right hand.

Ambe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kawanabe, pushing him back against the cage.

Kawanabe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hiroshi Kawanabe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ambe misses with a wild body shot.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Ambe has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kawanabe is trying to keep an underhook but Ambe manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ambe rushes Kawanabe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ambe is trying to drag Kawanabe to the mat but Kawanabe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ambe is trying to maintain a safe position but Kawanabe gets an underhook and turns Ambe into the cage.

Kawanabe's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Ambe takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Ambe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kawanabe to the mat! Kawanabe manages to get full guard.
Ambe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Ambe is landing with some decent strikes but Kawanabe is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Kawanabe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Har Ambe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kawanabe tries to reverse the position but Ambe maintains control.

Ambe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kawanabe can do to turn this around?

Ambe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Ambe.
Ambe frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kawanabe is desperately trying to improve his position but Ambe has a good base and remains in mount.

Har Ambe showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ambe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
