PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Buriak (ranked 3613 p4p, 450 weight class) and Clive Grissom (ranked 4501 p4p, 533 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buriak's jab looks to have found its range, popping Grissom under the eye.
Grissom has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Grissom missing with a left hand there. Buriak was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Grissom throws a shot from downtown. Buriak moves away and avoids it.
Grissom dives in for a single leg takedown but Buriak sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Buriak cracks a nice hook into Grissom's ribs.

Grissom lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A clash of legs there as Buriak blocks the low kick.

Grissom uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Buriak.
Buriak ducks under a wild hook from Grissom.
Buriak is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Buriak connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Grissom momentarily.
Buriak comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A big right from Grissom misses.
Grissom walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Grissom on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Grissom changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Buriak tries to avoid it but Grissom manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Buriak to the ground. Buriak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Buriak throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Grissom tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Buriak swivels and escapes.
Dimitri Buriak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clive Grissom.
Buriak throws a body punch but Grissom moves out of range.
The crowd cheers as Grissom lands an impressive looking overhand right. Buriak doesn't seem phased though.
Buriak looks to score with a jab to the body but Grissom is just out of range.

Buriak takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Grissom misses the jab.

Grissom closes the distance but Buriak moves to the side
and Buriak counters with a low kick, right behind Grissom 's knee.
Buriak feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Grissoms jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Buriak uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Grissom.
Buriak works Grissom's body with a nice hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Buriak will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Buriak lands a jab.
Buriak drops Grissom with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Grissom! Buriak dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

A very excited looking Dimitri Buriak rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
