PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Duane Whittman (ranked 5882 p4p, 498 weight class) and Amaru Maita (ranked 6420 p4p, 516 weight class). Whittman comes to the cage accompanied by Best Day Ever-Mac Miller. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maita looks to land a combination but Whittman avoids it well.
Maita throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Whittman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Maita manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Whittman fails with the takedown.

Whittman clinches up with Maita and pushes him back against the cage.
Maita wants to break the clinch but can't.
Whittman tries to pull guard but Maita forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A frustrated look appears on Maita's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Whittman tries to pull guard but Maita holds him up against the cage and eventually Whittman drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Duane Whittman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maita has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Whittman regains guard immediately.
Maita would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Whittman looking for a triangle here. Maita is fighting it but it looks tight! Whittman pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Maita is tapping out - this one is all over!
