PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Robinson (ranked 6813 p4p, 629 weight class) and Mr Second (ranked 6565 p4p, 619 weight class). Robinson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, When Nightmare Comes. Mr Second is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Duncan Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mr Second!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Second rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Robinson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Robinson appears to be looking for a big counter.
Second fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Robinson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Second.
Robinson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Second pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Second gets caught flat footed, as Robinson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Second is looking to stand back up but Robinson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Second.

Robinson moves nicely into side control.
Robinson is looking to take a break and control but Second is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Robinson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Second is trying to buck Robinson off.

Second is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Robinson decides to stand back up. Robinson steps back and let's Second get back to his feet.
Second throws a jab but it's blocked by Robinson.
Robinson thows a left - swing and a miss!
A little jabbing left from Second on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Robinson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Robinson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Second is trying to force a seperation but Robinson has the dominant position.
Robinson misses with a punch on the inside.
Robinson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Second to keep the fight standing.
Second dodges an elbow strike from Robinson.
Robinson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Robinson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Robinson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A cross from Second lands.
Robinson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Nice uppercut lands for Second. That snapped Robinson's head back.
Second looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Second tries to sprawl but Robinson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Robinson is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Second pushes Robinson off and gets back to his feet.
Second lands with a straight right. Robinson didn't see that one coming.
Robinson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Second cracks Robinson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Second scores with a nice strike.
Second throws a hook to the side of Robinson's head but Robinson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice jab there from Second.

Mr Second is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Robinson has managed to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Robinson has Second pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Second manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Duncan Robinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Second wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Robinson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mr Second seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Second tests Robinson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Second lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Robinson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Second looks to land a right hand but Robinson moved out of range.
Robinson walks into a straight right hand from Second.

Robinson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Second lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Robinson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Robinson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Robinson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Second connects with the punch.
Robinson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Robinson moves out of range as Second strikes.
Second might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Second lands a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Second's corner calls for a 1-2. Second obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Second dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Second's jab looks to have found its range, popping Robinson under the eye.
Second has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Robinson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Second sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Second swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Robinson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Nice uppercut there from Second.
Second loads up on a big right hand but Robinson slips the punch.

Second scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Second connects with the punch.

Robinson is rocked!
Second lands a jab to the head.
Oh Robinson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mr Second seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Second grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Robinson takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Second cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mr Second!
During a confident post fight interview, Mr Second thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Duncan Robinson spoke after the fight, saying 'Well that's nightmare for me. But I'm gonna sure that I will be the winner next time and put my opponent's dreams into a nightmare.'.
