Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivar The Viking (ranked 3011 p4p, 120 weight class) and Rutger Howard (ranked 7290 p4p, 236 weight class). The Viking kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Vikings Hunt-by VENOM. Rutger Howard will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The Viking throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Howard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The Viking tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Howard swivels and escapes.
Howard fails in his attempt to clinch.
The Viking rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Howard counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The Viking has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Ivar The Viking seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Viking throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Howard counters with a stiff right hand.
The Viking pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
The Viking showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Howard.
Howard defending well as The Viking loads up on a big left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howard misses with a leg kick

and The Viking counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Howard!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Viking tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no The Viking has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The Viking thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The Viking is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Howard looks calm but he's in trouble here. The Viking gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Howard is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! The Viking lets go of the hold and Howard can pop his arm back in it's socket.

A pretty intense looking Ivar The Viking took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
