Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerrald James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seb Sha!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a leg kick
and Sha counters with a leg kick.
Sha misses with a series of wild punches.
Sha throws a lazy uppercut
and James counters with a lovely straight right hand!
James looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sha avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sha looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
James throws a hook to the side of Sha's head but Sha sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
James loads up on a big right hand but Sha slips the punch.

Sha throws a body punch but James moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sha connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sha throws a predictable looking body shot
and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James just misses with a punch to the body.

and Sha counters with a lovely straight right hand!
James throws a shot from downtown. Sha moves away and avoids it.
Sha swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sha throws a hook to the side of James's head but James sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
James throws a big shot that misses.
Sha unleashes a big counter combination but James bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Sha moves away from the strike by James.
James misses with a left hand

and Sha counters with a takedown into side control.
My spies in Hilo Ippon Squad inform me that Sha has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
James is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sha asserts his dominance and retains side control.
An elbow from Sha crashes against the mat.
James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sha on the ground.
James is looking to reverse the position.
Sha has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sha connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused James some visible discomfort.

James wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The strikes coming from Sha are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sha misses with the ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sha tries to move to mount but James blocks the move with his legs.
James is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sloppy strikes there by Sha.

Sha wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.
Sha works to advance to full mount. James defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sha looking to finish James with some ground and pound. This is bad for James!

It looks like Gerrald James has been cut.
James holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sha tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
James is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Seb Sha!
