Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carson Duke (ranked 24780 p4p, 0 weight class) and Limp Wrist (ranked 5574 p4p, 0 weight class). Limp Wrist has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carson Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Limp Wrist!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wrist looks to score with a jab to the body but Duke is just out of range.

Wrist closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wrist connects with a nice short shot to Duke's temple.
Wrist seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Wrist wants to take a breather but Duke is having none of it.

Duke looking for submissions off his back.
Duke moves into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duke looking to control.
Duke looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wrist puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Wrist prevents Duke from improving his position.

Duke looking for submissions off his back.
Wrist tries to stand and escape but Duke is controlling the position.
Still in half guard, Wrist seems content to control.
Duke wants to improve his position but Wrist is controlling well.
Duke is looking to control Wrist's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Duke avoid being mounted?
Duke wants to get back to full guard.
Wrist wants to free his trapped foot but Duke is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Duke is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wrist's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wrist's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duke is trying to stick to Wrist's back but Wrist is turning into Duke. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Duke's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wrist.
Wrist seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wrist avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Duke has his foot on Wrist's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wrist works his way back into a safe position though.
Duke wants to sweep but no luck.

Wrist is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Duke looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wrist has picked Duke up and slammed him! Duke can't keep hold of the triangle and Wrist manages to pass to side control!

Duke takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wrist pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Duke back to the cage. Wrist follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Carson Duke has been cut.

Wrist has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Duke bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wrist's guard.

Wrist wants to get back to his feet but Duke is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Wrist is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Duke is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Wrist tries to roll over but Duke keeps him under control.
Duke is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Wrist slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Limp Wrist is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wrist fails with an attempt to clinch.
Duke misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wrist takes a kick to the side of the head.

Duke gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wrist to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Duke is trying to control the position from the bottom.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duke is on top in guard.

Duke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wrist swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Limp Wrist will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Duke lands with a kick to the temple. Wrist shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Duke tries a head kick but it misses.

Wrist is keen to just control but Duke is a slippery customer.

Duke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wrist can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Wrist tries to clinch there but Duke circles away.
Duke throws a head kick that misses.

Wrist shoots in and bounces Duke off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wrist takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Duke is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duke has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Duke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wrist does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Carson Duke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Limp Wrist is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Wrist tries to roll over but Duke keeps him under control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carson Duke.
I think Wrist has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
