Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilford Gregory (ranked 23534 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lord Lipz (ranked 5692 p4p, 0 weight class). Lord Lipz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wilford Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lord Lipz!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregory misses with a body shot.
Lipz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gregory avoids it really well and circles away.
Lipz moves to clinch but Gregory breaks away

and Gregory counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lipz wants to get back to his feet but Gregory passes into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gregory tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Lipz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gregory. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gregory seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lipz for as long as he can get away with.

Gregory's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lipz tries to lock up and control but Gregory gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gregory wants to stand and escape but Lipz is having none of it.

Lipz is looking to advance position but Gregory has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Gregory is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lipz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Lipz is looking to improve his position but Gregory isn't that keen on the idea.

Gregory avoids the attempt from Lipz to control.

Gregory landing strikes from the mount and Lipz is in trouble!

Wilford Gregory overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gregory lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lipz is trying to escape the mount.
Gregory takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Gregory is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Lipz doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gregory holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gregory's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Gregory changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lipz fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lipz throws a sloppy head kick

and Gregory decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lipz's guard.

Gregory decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lipz, up you get!

Lipz drives through with a takedown into Gregory's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Lipz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gregory escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lipz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gregory wants to get back to his feet but Lipz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gregory might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gregory working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lipz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lipz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lipz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Gregory scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Lipz manages to escape and get back to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gregory defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lipz.
Lipz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lipz or perhaps it was just good defense by Gregory, which made it look bad.
Wilford Gregory has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lord Lipz.
Lipz closes the distance and clinches up with Gregory, looking for a takedown. Lipz pushes Gregory against the cage but Gregory circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gregory throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lipz was covering up waiting for the punch and Gregory finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lipz wants to get back to his feet but Gregory passes into half guard.

Gregory decides to return to a standing position.

Gregory gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Gregory pushes Lipz off and scrambles back to his feet.

Lipz tries to keep at a distance but Gregory has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gregory pulls guard effortlessly.

Gregory looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lipz is defending well. Gregory quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lipz has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Gregory celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
