Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Mstislav Volkov (ranked 3417 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armondo Munoz (ranked 4178 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkov's entrance music is Riverdance. A fine choice. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruslan Mstislav Volkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Armondo Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Volkov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Munoz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Volkov dives in for a single leg takedown but Munoz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Volkov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Munoz stuffs the takedown attempt from Volkov. Volkov gets slowly back to his feet.
Munoz has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Volkov is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Volkov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Munoz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Volkov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Volkov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Munoz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Munoz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Munoz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Volkov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Munoz won't allow Volkov to pass to mount.
Volkov wants to take a breather but Munoz is having none of it.

Volkov is working for a submission of some sort.
Munoz is looking for a sweep. Volkov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Volkov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Munoz keeps working.
Volkov is really struggling to control Munoz but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Munoz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Munoz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Volkov won't allow Munoz to get back to his feet.

Munoz lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Volkov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Munoz's guard.

Volkov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Munoz looks a forlorn figure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Volkov shoots for a double leg takedown but Munoz sprawls well. He's pushed Volkov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I think Munoz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
