And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mohsin Zaidi!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Francis DeMontford and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaidi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dmitrievich counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Mohsin Zaidi has been cut.
Dmitrievich leaves Zaidi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dmitrievich misses with a straight right.
Dmitrievich missing with a left hand there. Zaidi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dmitrievich takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dmitrievich throws an overhand right that lands on Zaidi's shoulder, as Zaidi tries to avoid the shot.

Mohsin Zaidi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zaidi throws a head kick but Dmitrievich moves out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Zaidi.
Zaidi defending well as Dmitrievich loads up on a big left hand.
Zaidi on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Zaidi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dmitrievich throws out the jab.
Zaidi looks to throw a body kick
enabling Dmitrievich to counter with a crisp jab.
Zaidi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dmitrievich.
Zaidi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dmitrievich defends it nicely.
Ivashin Dmitrievich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohsin Zaidi.

Zaidi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dmitrievich sprawls well initially but Zaidi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Zaidi not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Zaidi seems to be looking for submissions.
Dmitrievich wants to get back to his feet.

Dmitrievich kicks Zaidi off and gets back to his feet.
Dmitrievich throws a jab when Zaidi was well out of range.
Dmitrievich misses with a hook. Zaidi ducked under it nicely.

Dmitrievich throws a hook but Zaidi blocks it.
Zaidi darts in looking for a takedown but Dmitrievich gets double underhooks and turns Zaidi into the cage.

Dmitrievich lands a glancing blow to the side of Zaidi's head.

Zaidi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dmitrievich bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Zaidi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dmitrievich throws a hook but Zaidi avoids it easily.
Dmitrievich throws a right hand that Zaidi ducks under and follows up with a left that Zaidi also avoids with ease.

Zaidi slips under a jab from Dmitrievich.
A low kick from Zaidi is predictable there
and Dmitrievich counters with a nice uppercut.
Dmitrievich throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dmitrievich feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Zaidi's calf.
Dmitrievich throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Zaidi dives in for a single leg takedown but Dmitrievich sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ivashin Dmitrievich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dmitrievich throws a right and a left that Zaidi avoids nicely.
Dmitrievich lands with a thumping leg kick.
Zaidi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dmitrievich steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zaidi.

Zaidi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dmitrievich manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dmitrievich wants to stand but Zaidi is controlling the position.
Zaidi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dmitrievich works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Zaidi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zaidi throwing strikes from guard but Dmitrievich blocks nicely.
Zaidi throws a strike but Dmitrievich rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dmitrievich is looking to stand up but Zaidi won't let him.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Dmitrievich got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zaidi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dmitrievich has managed to get both his arms back between Zaidi's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Zaidi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dmitrievich got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zaidi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dmitrievich has managed to get both his arms back between Zaidi's legs - danger averted.
Dmitrievich has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Zaidi is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zaidi looking for a guillotine here but Dmitrievich defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dmitrievich throws a shot from downtown. Zaidi moves away and avoids it.
Zaidi throws a body kick that misses.
It looked like Dmitrievich wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dmitrievich takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Zaidi misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Dmitrievich counter with a right hand.
Zaidi misses with a head kick.
Zaidi throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Dmitrievich counters with a stiff right hand.


That has opened up Mohsin Zaidi's cut even more.
Zaidi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dmitrievich was well out of range. Poor timing from Zaidi.
Dmitrievich looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Zaidi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Dmitrievich jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Zaidi lands with a nice body punch.
Dmitrievich throws a lazy right hand but Zaidi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zaidi misses with a takedown
and Dmitrievich counters with a straight right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zaidi throws a head kick but Dmitrievich moves out of range.
Dmitrievich throws a lazy right hand but Zaidi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Zaidi thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dmitrievich stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Zaidi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dmitrievich is trying to stand back up but Zaidi is controlling him
Zaidi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Zaidi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dmitrievich has managed to free his arm - good work.
Zaidi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Dmitrievich manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A slapping leg kick lands for Dmitrievich.
Dmitrievich throws a jab when Zaidi was well out of range.
Zaidi throws a lazy head kick
and Dmitrievich counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dmitrievich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dmitrievich moves out of range as Zaidi throws a body kick.
Zaidi throws a lazy right hand but Dmitrievich sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zaidi throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Zaidi dives in and grabs Dmitrievich's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dmitrievich pushes down on Zaidi's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Zaidi or perhaps it was just good defense by Dmitrievich, which made it look bad.
Ivashin Dmitrievich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohsin Zaidi.
Zaidi is breathing heavily.
Zaidi throws a leg kick which misses Dmitrievich's front leg but catches the back leg as Dmitrievich tries to avoid it.
Dmitrievich lands with a cross.


Zaidi is rocked!
Dmitrievich throws a shot to the body.
Zaidi is still on wobbly legs! Can Dmitrievich finish him?
Zaidi gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Dmitrievich gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Zaidi is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivashin Dmitrievich!
Ivashin Dmitrievich seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
