Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emanuel Rodrigez (ranked 5082 p4p, 431 weight class) and Cal Robbins (ranked 21010 p4p, 593 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez feints and as Robbins raises his hands in defense, Rodrigez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Robbins is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rodrigez presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Robbins drags the fight down to the ground.
Robbins throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigez trying to control but Robbins is working from the bottom.
Rodrigez has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Robbins isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rodrigez stacks Robbins on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rodrigez!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rodrigez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Robbins is pulling down on Rodrigez's head to control his posture.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Robbins working for a triangle but Rodrigez defends it easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Robbins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rodrigez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rodrigez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rodrigez tries to free his leg and advance position but Robbins is retaining full guard.
Robbins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rodrigez controls the pace.

Robbins is working an open guard so Rodrigez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rodrigez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A close round but Cal Robbins will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rodrigez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Robbins was covering up waiting for the punch and Rodrigez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Robbins wants to hit a switch here but Rodrigez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Robbins there!
Rodrigez prevents Robbins from getting the reversal.
Rodrigez looking to isolate an arm here. Robbins doesn't see it coming and as Rodrigez extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Rodrigez!
