Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeramy Rush (ranked 25228 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Jefferson (ranked 7726 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeramy Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Jefferson!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferson with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Jefferson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rush sprawls well initially but Jefferson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rush makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Rush shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jefferson is wriggling around but Rush manages to pass to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rush thows a huge punch but Jefferson dodges it nicely.
Jefferson tries to get to full guard but Rush has control of the leg.

Rush wants to work for an arm triangle but Jefferson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jefferson's head.

Rush is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jefferson is just riding it out for now. Rush eventually gives up the hold.
Jefferson pushes Rush off looking to stand but Rush dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rush wants to work for an arm triangle but Jefferson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rush swings around for an armbar but Jefferson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rush's guard.

Jefferson is standing up over Rush. Rush looks to escape but Jefferson dives into side control.

Rush is looking to control Jefferson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rush avoid being mounted?

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jefferson is nestled in close to Rush, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeramy Rush will probably get the nod.

Jefferson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Rush kicks Jefferson off and gets back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jefferson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rush knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rush for a finish.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rush accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rush won't allow Jefferson to sweep him here.
Rush scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Rush lands a couple of digs.
Rush working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Jefferson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rush lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Rush stands up and waves to Jefferson to follow him.

Jefferson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rush!

Rush sneaks out the side door and pushes Jefferson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Rush counters with a series of strikes. Jefferson will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeramy Rush dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Rush shoots in looking for a takedown but Jefferson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rush's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jefferson tries to clinch there but Rush circles away.
Jefferson wants to clinch up but Rush keeps it at a distance.
Jeramy Rush is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rush shoots for a takedown but Jefferson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jefferson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rush to the ground. Jefferson is now in Rush's guard.

Rush has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jefferson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Rush fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeramy Rush. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jefferson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rush regains guard immediately.

Rush uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jefferson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rush.

Rush changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jefferson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jefferson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Jefferson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rush is trying to defend but Jefferson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Rush has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jefferson is on him like a limpet, forcing Rush back against the cage.

Jefferson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jefferson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rush has his feet on Jefferson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Rush tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jefferson defends well and Rush ends up having to push Jefferson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Rush is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jefferson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
