Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bismarck De Jager (ranked 3891 p4p, 494 weight class) and Antonio Jose De Sucre (ranked 5081 p4p, 596 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think De Jager might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Afrikanerhart. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bismarck De Jager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Jose De Sucre!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Sucre dives in and grabs De Jager's left leg, looking for a takedown. De Jager pushes down on De Sucre's head and hops out.
De Jager avoids a kick to the body.
De Jager throwing a counter right hand but De Sucre manages to avoid it.
De Sucre shoots in for a takedown but De Jager shows good takedown defense.
De Jager is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by De Sucre.
De Jager displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from De Sucre.
Bismarck De Jager has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Jose De Sucre.
De Jager dives in for a single leg takedown but De Sucre sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

De Jager stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Jager wants it to stay on the feet.

De Sucre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Jager's waist but De Jager gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing De Sucre off to one side.
De Jager was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
De Sucre shoots in but De Jager avoids the takedown attempt easily.
De Jager appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
De Sucre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? De Jager is fending him off so far but De Sucre persists. Nope, De Jager circles away and we're back to standing.
De Jager sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
De Sucre tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Jager swats him away and circles back towards the center.

De Sucre closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into De Jager's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Sucre drops back, looking for a kneebar! De Jager looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. De Jager looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from De Jager!

De Sucre takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

De Jager perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

De Sucre feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

De Sucre has gone for a leg lock! De Jager slips out almost immediately though and dives into De Sucre's guard.
