Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Hopkins (ranked 2587 p4p, 270 weight class) and Paha Hemmo (ranked 4517 p4p, 402 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Paha Hemmo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hemmo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hemmo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hopkins defends well and Hemmo ends up having to push Hopkins into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hopkins looks to land a body kick but Hemmo moved away.
A nice side step and Hemmo releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Hemmo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hopkins connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hopkins throws a low kick, looking for Hemmo's leg but Hemmo calmly moves out of range.
Hemmo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hopkins defends it well.
Hopkins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Hemmo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hopkins trying to keep a closed guard but Hemmo is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hopkins looking for a sweep. Not yet Hopkins, not yet.
Hopkins pulls Hemmo in close to prevent any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hemmo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hopkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hopkins is trying to control the position but Hemmo postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hemmo stands up over Hopkins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hemmo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hemmo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hemmo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hopkins looking for a sweep. Not yet Hopkins, not yet.
Hemmo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hopkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hemmo's guard.

Hopkins wants to control from the top but Hemmo keeps moving.
Hopkins lands a couple of digs.
Hemmo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Hopkins is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hemmo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hopkins is looking to defend but Hemmo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hopkins! Hemmo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hopkins taps out and this one is all over!

Paha Hemmo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
