Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sao Alela (ranked 4371 p4p, 401 weight class) and Magnar Sigthordisson (ranked 4939 p4p, 430 weight class). Alela comes to the cage accompanied by Ground Zero (MOP). Sigthordisson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ganstagrass - Long hard times to come kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnar Sigthordisson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sigthordisson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sigthordisson misses with a head kick.
Alela has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Far-Q Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Alela takes the fight into the clinch.
Alela lands a shoulder strike.
Sigthordisson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Alela blocks a body shot from Sigthordisson.
Sigthordisson looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Sigthordisson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Sigthordisson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Alela backwards.
Sigthordisson is pressed up against the cage. Alela has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sigthordisson down to the mat. Sigthordisson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sigthordisson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sigthordisson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sigthordisson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Alela. Alela circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Magnar Sigthordisson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alela looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Alela clinches with his opponent.
Alela has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sigthordisson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sigthordisson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Alela.
Sigthordisson wants to escape the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Alela controlling the positon.
Sigthordisson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alela tries to get the hooks in deep but Sigthordisson pushed the leg off.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Alela controlling the positon.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alela is trying to stick to Sigthordisson's back but Sigthordisson is turning into Alela. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Alela's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sigthordisson.

Sigthordisson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Sigthordisson lands with a hook. Alela tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Alela has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sigthordisson misses with the head strike.
Alela lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Alela is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sigthordisson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sao Alela. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alela lands a hook to the side of the head.

Alela gets control of Sigthordisson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alela will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Magnar Sigthordisson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alela has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Sigthordisson misses with a body shot.
Alela shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Alela is keen to just control but Sigthordisson is a slippery customer.
Alela slows the pace down in half guard.
Sigthordisson wants to get back to his feet.
Alela prevents Sigthordisson from improving his position.
Sigthordisson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Alela.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Magnar Sigthordisson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Alela takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Sigthordisson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alela circles away quickly and effectively.

Alela gets a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Alela - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Alela has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sigthordisson uses from the top position.
Sigthordisson gets to his feet. Alela looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Alela takes one on the button.
Alela moves into range and clinches up with Sigthordisson.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Alela escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Still in the clinch, Alela scores with a nice short uppercut.

Sigthordisson tries to break free but Alela pushes him back against the cage.
Sigthordisson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Sao Alela has scored more points in the clinch so far.

Alela lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sigthordisson backwards.
Sigthordisson is still on wobbly legs! Can Alela finish him?
Alela throws a big uppercut that drops Sigthordisson! More strikes from Alela and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Sigthordisson lies dazed against the cage as Alela celebrates with his cornermen!
