Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Borrego (ranked 2978 p4p, 277 weight class) and Jake Woods (ranked 1732 p4p, 173 weight class). Borrego comes to the cage accompanied by Amongst the greats -by FRANK ZAPPA. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borrego lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Woods throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been informed that Woods has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Woods displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Borrego throws out the jab.
Woods looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Borrego fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Woods, pushing him back against the cage.

and Woods counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Woods bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Borrego takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Woods cracks Borrego with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Woods has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Borrego to stand back up!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Borrego misses with the combination.
Borrego feints a jab promting Woods to slip. Borrego then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Woods slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Borrego's jab looks to have found its range, popping Woods under the eye.
Borrego tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Woods manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Borrego throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Borrego throws a body shot but no joy.

Woods cracks Borrego with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Woods has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Borrego to stand back up!

It looked like Borrego wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Borrego throws an overhand right that lands on Woods's shoulder, as Woods tries to avoid the shot.

The fighters circling - Borrego throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Woods connects with a nice looking jab.

and Woods counters with a huge right that knocks Borrego out cold! Woods is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jake Woods!
Jake Woods bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Mark Borrego was interviewed post fight and said 'I AM my own worst enemy I drank way too much right before the fight.....drunken boxing didn't work...im off to AA.... '.
