Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Araujo (ranked 470 p4p, 26 weight class) and Albert Van Rooy (ranked 412 p4p, 17 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Albert Van Rooy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Van Rooy as Araujo shoots in.

Araujo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Van Rooy did well to prevent Araujo getting side control.
Araujo is thwarting Van Rooy's attempts to control the position.
Araujo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Araujo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Van Rooy is just riding it out for now. Araujo eventually gives up the hold.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Rooy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Araujo thows a huge punch but Van Rooy dodges it nicely.

Araujo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Van Rooy keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Araujo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van Rooy sees it coming and defends easily.

Araujo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Araujo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Van Rooy is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
