Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Roach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Oskar Klavan!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roach fails to land with a series of punches.
Klavan takes one to the side of the head.
Roach tries to bum rush Klavan with a series of wild strikes but Klavan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A countering left hand to the body from Klavan misses.
We've been told by Roach's head coaches at 805 Beast's House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
No joy there for Roach, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Klavan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Roach missing with a left hand there. Klavan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The crowd cheers as Roach lands an impressive looking overhand right. Klavan doesn't seem phased though.
Klavan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roach sprawls well. Roach wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Klavan gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klavan looks up at the clock. Bad move! Roach lands a right hand from hell, dropping Klavan. Roach pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Roach!
Roy Roach bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
