Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie McDonald (ranked 3841 p4p, 381 weight class) and Vladimir Tarlac (ranked 4267 p4p, 417 weight class). McDonald kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Get Busy Living. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarlac defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McDonald.
Tarlac has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

McDonald will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tarlac has hold of McDonald's hands but McDonald slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Tarlac has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDonald is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDonald is looking to take a break and control but Tarlac is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
McDonald doesn't manage to clinch there - Tarlac circles away.
McDonald closes the distance and pushes Tarlac back into the cage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McDonald just misses with a punch to the body.

McDonald takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McDonald moves out of range as Tarlac strikes.
McDonald shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've been told by McDonald's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Tarlac throws an overhand right that lands on McDonald's shoulder, as McDonald tries to avoid the shot.

McDonald takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Tarlac fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McDonald has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McDonald tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tarlac manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tarlac pounces like a tiger and cracks McDonald with a vicious hook! McDonald is down but not out! Tarlac follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Vladimir Tarlac decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
