Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Sloan (ranked 5625 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Waddell (ranked 4899 p4p, 588 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trenton Sloan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Waddell!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waddell wants to clinch.

Sloan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sloan tries to land a knee to the head but Waddell blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Waddell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Trenton Sloan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Waddell clinches with his opponent.

Sloan pulls guard.
Sloan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Waddell is one step ahead there.
Sloan wants to get back to his feet but Waddell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sloan working for a triangle but Waddell defends it easily.
Waddell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sloan is on top in guard.

Waddell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sloan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Waddell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sloan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sloan throws a strike but Waddell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Waddell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sloan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Waddell lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Sloan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Waddell defends it easily.

Waddell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Waddell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Waddell won't allow Sloan to sweep him here.

Sloan manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sloan throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Waddell on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Waddell closes the distance and clinches.
Waddell dodges an elbow strike from Sloan.
Waddell trying to land knees to the body.
Sloan has Waddell pressed against the cage.
Waddell taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Sloan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Sloan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Waddell blocks a body shot from Sloan.

Sloan manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Waddell wants to control from the top but Sloan keeps moving.

Sloan looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Waddell passes into side control.
Waddell wants to control but Sloan is keeping him busy.
Sloan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Waddell's best efforts.

Waddell is working for a submission of some sort.
Sloan is trying to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Waddell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Waddell is stalling here. Sloan is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Waddell seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sloan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Waddell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Sloan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sloan tries a head kick but it misses.
Waddell lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Waddell shoots in but Sloan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sloan has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Waddell misses with some punches.

Sloan jumps guard but Waddell turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Sloan goes for a takedown attempt but Waddell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Waddell keeps the fight on the outside.
Waddell lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Waddell tries to close the distance and clinch but Sloan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Waddell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sloan throws a head kick but Waddell moves out of range.
Sloan misses with a series of wild punches.
Waddell looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Waddell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sloan looks to clinch
and Waddell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sloan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Waddell.
Sloan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Waddell rushes Sloan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Waddell drags the fight down to the ground.
Sloan is looking to stand up but Waddell won't let him.
Waddell wants to stand and escape but Sloan is having none of it.
Waddell has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Sloan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Waddell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Waddell has escaped and now he's on top!

Waddell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sloan, up you get!
Waddell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sloan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sloan misses with a few strikes there.
Waddell throws a counter combo.
Waddell fails in his attempt to clinch.
As Waddell looks to move away, Sloan throws a big counter combo but Waddell just gets out of the way.
Sloan swings widly with a right hand
and Waddell counters with a one-two to the body.

and Waddell counters with a HUGE slam that knocks Sloan out cold!!! When he eventually wakes up, that one's gunna hurt!
