Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucio Francisco Carmo (ranked 18896 p4p, 243 weight class) and Kevin Shinnie (ranked 2479 p4p, 110 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Shinnie throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Carmo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shinnie to score with a decent uppercut.

Shinnie felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Carmo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shinnie's shoulder. That is not cool.
Carmo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Shinnie is avoiding damage well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carmo misses with a double jab.
Carmo pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Shinnie throws a lazy right hand but Carmo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Shinnie counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Shinnie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Carmo's head backwards.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Carmo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shinnie darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Carmo's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Shinnie before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
