The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Svantovit has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bell is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Svantovit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Bell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Svantovit with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


It looks like Lothar Svantovit has been cut.
Bell is taking a breather. Svantovit says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Greg Bell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bell is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Svantovit is hurt! He's hurt bad - Bell fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Svantovit from any more punishment! Congratulations to Bell! Great finish!
