PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sammmy Kilbach (ranked 1261 p4p, 161 weight class) and Ispa Mfer (ranked 1042 p4p, 135 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sammmy Kilbach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ispa Mfer!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Watson and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mfer misses with a low kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Mfer misses the target.
Kilbach wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Mfer misses with a straight right.
Mfer catches Kilbach with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mfer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kilbach checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
As Mfer tries to get set, Kilbach tries to push him back and clinch up but Mfer manages to avoid the attempt.

Mfer lands a big uppercut and Kilbach crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kilbach looks OK. Mfer waves Kilbach back to his feet!


Kilbach is rocked!


It looks like Sammmy Kilbach has been cut.
Mfer throws a lazy right hand but Kilbach sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mfer throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kilbach.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kilbach tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mfer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mfer dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sammmy Kilbach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilbach tries to close the distance and clinch but Mfer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Mfer on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Kilbach moves into the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Kilbach tries a body shot but Mfer blocks it.
I was talking to Kilbach's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kilbach.
Kilbach lands with a right to the head.

Mfer swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kilbach lands with a right to the head.
Kilbach lands a hook that snaps the head of Mfer backwards.
Mfer takes a shot to the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mfer.
Mfer doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A short uppercut from Mfer.
Mfer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A body shot lands from Kilbach.
Mfer prevents a body shot from Kilbach.
Kilbach tries to throw a body punch but Mfer avoids it by throwing Kilbach back against the cage.
Kilbach wants to stall.
Mfer misses with a hook from the clinch.
Mfer lands a body punch.
Mfer scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Kilbach doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mfer can't find room to land a body shot as Kilbach controls the action.
Mfer is trying to break the clinch but Kilbach is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mfer manages to break the clinch.
Kilbach throws a lazy uppercut
and Mfer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mfer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kilbach tries to clinch up but Mfer circles away and keeps his distance.
Mfer misses with a kick to the body.
Kilbach wants to clinch
and Mfer counters with a straight right hand.
A swing and a miss from Mfer.
Mfer looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mfer feints and then cracks Kilbach's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kilbach down.
Kilbach lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kilbach fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mfer slips under a jab.
Kilbach throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mfer moves away from the strike by Kilbach.
Mfer throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mfer lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kilbach loads up on a big right hand but Mfer slips the punch.
Mfer scores with a leg kick.
Kilbach takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kilbach darts in trying to clinch

and Mfer counters with a crisp right hand that drops Kilbach! Mfer lets Kilbach back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Oh Kilbach is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kilbach swings widly with a right hand
and Mfer rattles Kilbach with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Kilbach tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Mfer dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Kilbach stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ispa Mfer!
During a confident post fight interview, Ispa Mfer thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
