PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Kyle (ranked 4287 p4p, 512 weight class) and Wendall White (ranked 6023 p4p, 596 weight class). Kyle comes to the cage accompanied by Barbie Girl. The key to victory for Mike Kyle has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Kyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wendall White!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyle tries to close the distance and clinch but White swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kyle gets caught flat footed, as White shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kyle wants to get back to his feet but White is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kyle working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because White has passed into half guard!
Kyle is trying to stand.
Kyle wants to control but White is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kyle has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but White is on him like a limpet, forcing Kyle back against the cage.
White jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kyle walks away with a smile on his face. White gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
White shoots in but Kyle avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kyle fails in his attempt to clinch.

White has taken the fight to the clinch.
White is trying to pull guard but Kyle turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mike Kyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wendall White.
Kyle is looking for a takedown.
White is trying to push Kyle away but Kyle has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kyle manages to pull guard.

Kyle is looking for a triangle but White pushes his legs off easily.
White stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kyle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kyle has White pulled in close to control his posture.

White preventing the sweep.

Kyle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kyle utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White content to stall in guard here.

Kyle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
White in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
White works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Still in half guard, White seems content to control.
White passes to full mount!
Kyle tries to hold on but White postures up.
Kyle is squirming around, avoiding White's attempts to control the action.
White content just to control the position here.
Poor strikes thrown by White there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kyle wants to control but White is having none of it.
White takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kyle is squirming around, avoiding White's attempts to control the action.
Kyle is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
White tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wendall White dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

White shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice takedown defense from White. No joy for Kyle on that attempt.
White shoots in and drives through. Kyle sprawls well.
It looked like Kyle was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kyle scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Wendall White has been cut.

Oooooh!!! Kyle has knocked White down with a huge combo! Kyle steps away and waves a wobbly White back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

White is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
White throws a sloppy head kick
and Kyle makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kyle stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
White is still on wobbly legs! Can Kyle finish him?
White shoots and misses
and Kyle counters with a huge left! White is in big trouble! He's backing up but Kyle isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save White from any more damage. A dominating finish by Kyle!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Kyle!
Mike Kyle gave a mention to Dr. Dogood (160 quality for $135) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
