The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe dodges the punch combination from Zane.
Monroe is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Zane.
Sloppy strikes from Zane. Those never looked like landing.
Nice takedown defense from Monroe. No joy for Zane on that attempt.
Monroe looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Monroe rushes Zane and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Zane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Zane wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
