Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Topher Curtis (ranked 3391 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Lawson (ranked 2478 p4p, 267 weight class). Lawson has chosen Wait and Bleed by Slipknot as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

and Lawson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Curtis lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Trevor Lawson has been cut.
Lawson looks to land a combination. Curtis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Lawson lands a nice shot to the body.
Lawson moves away from the strike by Curtis.
Lawson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Curtis's head backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd cheers as Lawson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Curtis doesn't seem phased though.

Curtis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lawson.

Lawson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Still in half guard, Lawson seems content to control.

Lawson escapes and gets back to his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Curtis misses the target.
Lawson looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Trevor Lawson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Curtis wants to clinch but Lawson slips to the side

Curtis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Lawson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Lawson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Curtis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Curtis tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lawson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Lawson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

and Lawson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Lawson counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
