PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Welter Weight (ranked 996 p4p, 126 weight class) and Rocky Horror (ranked 2176 p4p, 251 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Welter Weight!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Horror!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weight digs a good hook to Horror's body.
Horror throws an off balance right hand
and Weight counters with a nice uppercut.
Horror tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Weight manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Weight throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Horror stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Horror ducks right into an uppercut from Weight.
Horror tries to clinch up
and Horror takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horror rushes Weight and presses him up against the cage.
Horror drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Weight gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Horror lands a takedown into guard.

Horror thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Weight not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Horror working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Weight utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Horror is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Horror stands up over Weight, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Horror stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weight swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Weight has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Horror postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horror tries to free his leg and advance position but Weight is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Horror is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Horror is working Weight over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Horror slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Horror has an Americana. Weight didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Horror is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Horror hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Rocky Horror is the new welterweight champion!
A very excited looking Rocky Horror rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
