The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Paulson. Gibbord does a little dance to reset his feet.
Paulson misses with a two punch combination.
Paulson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gibbord shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paulson as he avoids it easily.
Paulson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Gibbord is trying hard to land a takedown here. Paulson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Paulson misses with a straight left.

Paulson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gibbord to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Gibbord tries to stand but Paulson is controlling from the bottom.
Paulson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gibbord really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gibbord stays in close to Paulson's body and controls the position.
Paulson pulls Gibbord in to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gibbord tries to free his leg and advance position but Paulson is retaining full guard.
Gibbord will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Paulson has Gibbord pulled in close to control his posture.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nice shot lands for Paulson.
Paulson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Gibbord is rocked!
Paulson cracks Gibbord on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Gibbord falls backwards against the cage. Paulson follows up with more strikes that drop Gibbord to his knees. Paulson keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Gibbord! This one is all over!
