Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jhin Markell (ranked 1786 p4p, 206 weight class) and Suicide Bunny (ranked 2709 p4p, 280 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jhin Markell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suicide Bunny!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bunny's half guard.
Bunny is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Markell looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Markell is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Markell is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Markell is working for a kimura but Bunny is defending it quite comfortably.
Markell winds up and cracks Bunny with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Markell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Markell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bunny with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Markell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Markell seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Markell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Markell landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Bunny tries to roll over but Markell keeps him under control.
Markell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Markell lands a nice short elbow.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Markell in particular looking to stall.
Markell seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Markell is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bunny is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jhin Markell!
A relieved looking Jhin Markell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
