Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 47 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Huber!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huber closes this distance looking for a takedown but Koch circles away.
Huber ducks under a wild hook from Koch.
Huber drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Koch defends it well.
Mario Huber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Huber gets a double leg takedown into Koch's guard.
Huber throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Koch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Koch has momentary wrist control but Huber slips an elbow through the middle.
Huber throws a big elbow that misses.

Huber drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Huber jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Koch is breathing heavily.

Huber drops back looking for a leg! Koch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Koch manages to kick Huber off! Huber jumps back into Koch's guard.
Huber has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huber lands a couple of decent looking shots.

My spies in whitey's gym inform me that Huber has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Huber postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Koch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Huber, into his guard.


Koch is posturing up here but Huber has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Koch tries to roll out but it's too tight and Koch has to tap! Slick submission there by Huber!

In his post fight interview, Mario Huber started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
