The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alves gets the takedown into side control.

Alves tries for a kimura but Szczawinski is defending well.

Alves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Alves working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Alves is trying to get an arm triangle but Szczawinski is defending well.
Alves misses with the ground and pound.

Alves trying to control the position but Szczawinski is working away.

Alves is working to tighten his grip on Szczawinski's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Szczawinski has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Alves is really squeezing tight and eventually Szczawinski passes out! Alves breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Jumping up and down and very excited, Luiz Alves waved his t-shirt featuring Freebok (85% Laundry)'s logo in front of the cameras.
