Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeffery Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, George Boozer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boozer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
George Boozer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boozer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Wood tries to pull guard but Boozer won't allow it.
Wood wants to get back to striking at distance but Boozer won't allow it.
We've been hearing reports that Wood has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wood tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Boozer smiles and moves away.
Boozer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wood paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wood on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Wood tries to circle away but Boozer has him pinned against the cage.
Wood wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boozer feints a jab promting Wood to slip. Boozer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wood slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Wood forces Boozer back against the cage and clinches.
Boozer tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Wood avoids it.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Boozer obliges.

Boozer can't find room to land a body shot as Wood controls the action.

Boozer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wood has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Boozer uses from the top position.

Boozer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wood, up you get!

Boozer manages to break the clinch.

Boozer clinches up with Wood and pushes him back against the cage.
Boozer is pressed up against the cage. Wood has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Boozer down to the mat. Boozer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
