Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddy Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leron Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins throws a head kick that misses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hawkins.
Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hawkins throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Perez is looking for a sweep.
Hawkins laying and praying for a moment but Perez takes advantage and regains half guard.

Hawkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawkins prevents Perez from improving his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Perez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hawkins fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Perez to the ground. Hawkins is now in Perez's guard.

Perez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Hawkins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hawkins showed some decent athleticism there.

Perez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Perez drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hawkins sprawls and moves away.
Hawkins bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Perez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Perez tries for a takedown but Hawkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hawkins lands a nice hook to Perez's body. Perez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Perez is trying to control Hawkins's posture but Hawkins avoids it.
Hawkins is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Perez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Hawkins won't let Perez get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Perez is not content to let Hawkins control the position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hawkins lands a nice short elbow.
Perez is trying to maintain the position but Hawkins is very close to passing his half guard.
Perez pushes Hawkins off looking to stand but Hawkins dives back in and keeps control.
Hawkins is keen to just control but Perez is a slippery customer.
Hawkins wants to stand but Perez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Leron Hawkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Leron Hawkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Perez is looking to get back to his feet here but Hawkins is keeping cool and he's managed to take Perez's back.

Hawkins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Hawkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Perez is looking to work some ground and pound but Hawkins has wrist control.
Perez chips away with some ground and pound.
Hawkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hawkins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Perez controls the pace.

Hawkins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perez defends well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hawkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hawkins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Perez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Perez lands a couple of elbows.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

I would just about give that final round to Leron Hawkins.
I've got Hawkins winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
