Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gary Dema (ranked 3805 p4p, 171 weight class) and Alexander Volg Zangief (ranked 6212 p4p, 238 weight class). Zangief has chosen The wolf's hunt by-WOLFSLAIR as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zangief sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Zangief throws a jab when Dema was well out of range.
Zangief lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dema lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Dema is looking to slow Zangief down with leg kicks.
Zangief takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Dema misses with a straight right.

Dema takes the fight into the clinch.

Zangief escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Dema. Zangief does a little dance to reset his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zangief must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Zangief wants to control from the top but Dema keeps moving.

Dema is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zangief defends well.

Dema has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zangief can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing good reports from Dema's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Zangief got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dema has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zangief has managed to get both his arms back between Dema's legs - danger averted.

Dema escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zangief gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Zangief is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Dema has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Zangief is looking to defend but Dema has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Zangief! Dema pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Zangief taps out and this one is all over!

The defeated Alexander Volg Zangief had this to say: 'Lucky BS I vant rematch...'.
