Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chinum OEden (ranked 5504 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoyce Halonen (ranked 4353 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OEden looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Halonen wants to counter with a clinch but OEden pushes him away.

Halonen pushes OEden up against the cage in a clinch.
Halonen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Halonen pulls OEden into guard.

Halonen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. OEden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. OEden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Halonen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and OEden defends well.

OEden got a little sloppy there for a moment and Halonen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, OEden has managed to get both his arms back between Halonen's legs - danger averted.

Halonen has his foot on OEden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. OEden works his way back into a safe position though.
OEden is looking to pass into half guard but Halonen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Halonen is in guard.

Halonen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Halonen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Halonen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OEden escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Halonen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

OEden uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Halonen rushes OEden and presses him up against the cage.
Halonen jumps guard but OEden stands there with Halonen around his waist. Halonen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Chinum OEden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hoyce Halonen.
Halonen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

OEden turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Halonen sneaks back into half guard.
OEden stalling away here and it's allowed Halonen to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

OEden content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Halonen has locked up a guillotine! Halonen's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? OEden is holding on here and Halonen must be using up a lot of energy. OEden has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Halonen gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
