Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ramelo Gracie (ranked 3541 p4p, 0 weight class) and John De Hahler (ranked 5458 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramelo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Hahler misses with a right hand
and Gracie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
De Hahler rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gracie counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from De Hahler.
Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching De Hahler on his heels. He'll look to pass De Hahler's guard now, I'm sure.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
De Hahler is trying to keep Gracie in close.
Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
De Hahler keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Hahler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gracie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

De Hahler looking for a guillotine here but Gracie defends easily.
Gracie throwing strikes but missing.
Gracie passes De Hahler's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
De Hahler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
De Hahler looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Hahler controlling the position well.
De Hahler looks winded!
Gracie wants to pass the guard but De Hahler is defending well.
Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gracie not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Gracie takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
De Hahler controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Gracie is looking for a kimura here.
Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. De Hahler tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gracie!
