PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Richie Miles (ranked 1382 p4p, 173 weight class) and Richard Kuklinski (ranked 1339 p4p, 168 weight class). Miles comes into the arena with You Never Met a Mother Fucker Quite Like Me blaring out of the sound system. Richard Kuklinski struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Richard Kuklinski will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richie Miles!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Kuklinski!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles takes the fight into the clinch.
Kuklinski blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Miles closes the distance and pushes Kuklinski back into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kuklinski.
Kuklinski changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Miles fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Miles tries to clinch but Kuklinski moves out of range.
And Kuklinski tries to counter it with a takedown but Miles pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Miles is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kuklinski is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Miles is looking to stand up but Kuklinski won't let him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Miles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kuklinski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kuklinski is trying to drag Miles to the mat but Miles just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Richard Kuklinski decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
In defeat, Richie Miles stepped up to the mic, saying 'You got the better of me this time, but you wont be so lucky the next time'.
