Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Hugo (ranked 6212 p4p, 485 weight class) and Gunther Beck (ranked 7161 p4p, 513 weight class). Hugo comes into the arena with Eminem - Lose Yourself blaring out of the sound system. Beck has chosen On The Floor as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leroy Hugo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gunther Beck!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugo throws a head kick but Beck moves out of range.
Beck has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Beck shoots for a double leg takedown but Hugo sprawls well. He's pushed Beck's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Beck forces Hugo back against the cage and clinches.

Beck keeps control of Hugo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Beck is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hugo is defending well.

Hugo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Beck blocks it with crossed arms.
Hugo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Beck pulls his leg out and moves away.

Hugo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hugo slaps away a takedown attempt from Beck, before circling back to the center of the mat.
It looked like Hugo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Beck shoots in for a takedown but Hugo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gunther Beck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hugo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Beck steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Hugo.

Hugo throws a low kick but Beck moves out of range easily.

With the fighters up against the cage, Hugo throws an elbow but misses.
Beck tries to land a knee to the head but Hugo blocks with his arms.
Hugo is trying to push Beck away but Beck has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hugo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Beck misses with a knee to the head.
Beck lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Hugo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Beck walks away with a smile on his face. Hugo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Beck looks for a takedown but Hugo sprawls well.

Hugo drives through and clinches with Beck against the cage.
Hugo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hugo breaks from the clinch.
Beck darts in looking for a takedown but Hugo gets double underhooks and turns Beck into the cage.
Hugo moves into range and clinches up with Beck.
Hugo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Beck has him pressed against the cage.
Hugo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hugo tries to bum rush Beck with a series of wild strikes but Beck uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hugo rushes Beck and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hugo looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hugo is trying to push Beck away but Beck has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Beck stalls.

Beck has Hugo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hugo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Beck fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hugo scores with a hook to the body.
Hugo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Beck has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Hugo is trying to pull guard but Beck has him pressed against the cage.
Hugo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hugo wants to get back to striking at distance but Beck won't allow it.

Hugo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hugo wants to break free but Beck has control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leroy Hugo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hugo tries a head kick but it misses.
Beck shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hugo pinned against the cage. Hugo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hugo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Beck's calf.
Beck closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hugo lands a body punch.
Beck manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Beck has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hugo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Leroy Hugo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gunther Beck.

In his post fight interview, Leroy Hugo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
