PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gilberto Zimmerman (ranked 5506 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dgs Gdsd (ranked 5512 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimmerman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gdsd swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zimmerman enables Gdsd to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zimmerman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gdsd slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Zimmerman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gdsd is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Gdsd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zimmerman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gdsd has managed to get both his arms back between Zimmerman's legs - danger averted.

Zimmerman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gdsd feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gdsd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zimmerman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters circling - Zimmerman throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Gdsd throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zimmerman was covering up waiting for the punch and Gdsd finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Zimmerman is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That was a close round but I would say that Gilberto Zimmerman will probably get the nod.

Gdsd has control of Zimmerman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zimmerman regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gdsd throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Zimmerman tries to close the distance and clinch but Gdsd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As Zimmerman backs off Gdsd throws a huge counter combo but Zimmerman manages to avoid it all.
