Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Wazinsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lexington Steeled!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wazinsky closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Steeled did well to prevent Wazinsky getting side control.

Steeled kicks off Wazinsky and gets to his feet.
Steeled misses with a double jab

and Wazinsky counters with a shoot takedown. Steeled fights it but they end up in guard.
Wazinsky is in close to Steeled's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steeled is pulling down on Wazinsky's head. It's preventing any offense from Wazinsky, at least for the moment.

Steeled avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Wazinsky forces his way into half guard.

Wazinsky wants to work for an arm triangle but Steeled is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Steeled has eaten all the pies!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wazinsky chips away with some ground and pound.
Steeled trying to keep a closed guard but Wazinsky is proving a slippery customer.
Wazinsky passes Steeled's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wazinsky is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Steeled has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wazinsky is working away from the top position though.

Wazinsky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Steeled tries to roll over but Wazinsky keeps him under control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Steeled is looking for a takedown.
Steeled blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Wazinsky decides to pull guard.
Wazinsky pulls Steeled in close to his closed guard and prevents Steeled from doing any damage or advancing position.

Wazinsky had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Steeled defends it easily.
Wazinsky manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Steeled manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wazinsky advances to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wazinsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Max Wazinsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Steeled is working to avoid the ground and pound but Wazinsky connects with a decent elbow.
Wazinsky is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Steeled takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Steeled is trying to escape the position but Wazinsky is controlling the position.

Wazinsky tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Wazinsky dives in and scores a takedown into Steeled's guard.
Wazinsky connects with a couple of short punches.

Steeled has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wazinsky is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Wazinsky gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Steeled regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wazinsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Steeled is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Steeled takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wazinsky gets to his feet. Steeled looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Steeled misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wazinsky shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wazinsky showed some decent athleticism there.
Wazinsky slows the pace down in half guard.
Wazinsky has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Wazinsky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steeled can do to turn this around?

Wazinsky stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Steeled steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wazinsky.

Steeled gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wazinsky stands and throws Steeled's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Lexington Steeled has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Max Wazinsky is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wazinsky looks up at the clock and then as Steeled takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wazinsky smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wazinsky, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
